The Beavers are the youngest element here at the 1st Portsmouth and is made up of boys and girls aged between 6 and to 8. We meet in Cathedral House, behind the Anglican cathedral, in Old Portsmouth on Wednesday evenings during term time  from 1715-1815hrs.  Although we are a Sea Scouting Group the Cub uniform is the same as our Land Beaver counterparts and consists of a blue beaver jersey (normally covered in hard earned badges) and the 1st Portsmouth black necker.

The Beaver leaders run wide ranging activities from cooking to knot tying and star gazing to team building and along with a bewildering variety of games to keep the Beavers entertained and engaged, the evening are never dull.  In the summer months the Beavers tend to do more outdoor activities including wide games (large open space games) and skills work either on the Cathedral Green and on Southsea Common.
